      • Congratulation Gurdal. Very handy design. Are you doing some tests?

Molio bih prijatelje koji znaju engleski da ovo prevedu realno.

Hello everyone, do a simple test. Set up under a full brick thickness 6cm D18mm and before that you do set the detector to detects under a full brick (and potentiometers for GB and diskriminator set so as not to see the iron objects). You will see the following: almost any detector that has a DD coil penetrates a brick and see the coin, and all the detectors with a concentric or coplanar coil will noe se the same coin. To the explanation for the case which is our friend and tried cesar ML Souvereign so Souvereign was better than cesar. Connect the DD probe only described by ivconic and you will see, it's the right thing. Leave the blue max, etc. and other concentric probe away.

5x5 aluminum box in the air will be detected from a distance of 1 meter.

            • Brick test

              WM6,

In response to your test with a brick. Try this: place your target under a complete sidewalk or driveway made of bricks. You will see that most any coil can find the target. but.. NOT under a single brick. The reason being is that the DISC channel will see the signal from the brick go in the opposite polarity as the desired target and mask the target. With a complete sidewalk made of bricks, the signals rate of change (from bricks) is slow compared to the target and will not be masked.

In order for a detector to signal, BOTH channels must agree, at the SAME time. This will not be the case with a signal from a single brick and a target under the brick. Connect a dual trace scope to both channels of your detector and you will see this.

Another test to prove this point: Ground balance to a brick. Hold the coil still and place the brick on TOP of the coil. Then, move your target over the brick. Voila!

Did I understand your post correctly?

                Hi.
The text by Orbit was for me, so i give a small answer.
I don't construct the coil descripted by Ivconic because i have not a similar Minelab coil and to compare ot with the Sovereign. Cesar is a 95% Fisher 1225. Small differences, except that try to give more Tx signal by the use of critical adjustments (potentiometer adjustment). Also the tune of coil make it more sensitive.
If it is so special, why Fisher is not????
Anyway, i like better my Sovereign

                Regards

                        Hi Don

I think you upgrade Orbits message in some way. Brick have to be out of clay (cause of Fe inside).

It is only about suitability DD and CC coil for SMW detector. Orbit argue, by test, only DD as adequate.

                              Hi
14V p-p voltage is too small for the detector.
                              The frequency should be 5.4-5.7kHz
